TVFF is organized to provide a place for local fly anglers to gather for fellowship, fly fishing, to further the art and sport of flyfishing and to contribute to the preservation and wise use of game fish and natural resources.
The TVFF club follows the mission statement of the Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) and is a registered and affiliated members. Our goals are to:

Our club was organized in October of 1983. This first club had 33 members of whom 15 were Fly Fishing Federation members. Membership continued to grow as the word spread around Huntsville about a Fly fishing Club and grew to 80 members at one time. The average membership has been closer to 50 members. In January of 1984 the club became affiliated with FFF.
Many club members have distinguished themselves in the sport. Club members have published books, undertaken conservation activities and conducted fly tying, rod building and casting clinics for the public through club participation at local outdoor shows and community events. Several members became accomplished fly tiers and one youth member tied at the National and Southern conclave events and was awarded Youth Fly Tier of the Year by the Southern Conclave in 1969. One of our members is a world renown tier of poppers. Another member has been the club auctioneer at the National Conclave, Southern Conclaves and has been our club auctioneer at our annual club auction/banquet. Other club members have been intimately involved in the Southern FFF, holding officers positions and participating in fly tying at FFF Conclaves.
The club participated in the community by the adoption of needy families at Christmas and contributing food and gifts. The club even adopted a scout troop comprised of under priviledged kids and became their mentor in discovering the adventures of fly fishing. They were quick to learn and eager to become accomplished fly fisherman.
Currently the club has 50 active members with 17 being members of the FFF. Annually the club supports the Southern and Southeastern FFF conclaves as well as the Sowbug Roundup in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Local events such as the annual WBC Outdoor Expo, boat shows, etc. are also supported by the club.
